The ÖH election 2023 at the University of Salzburg – Simplified

The ÖH elections are coming up from 09 to 11 May and your student representatives will be newly elected: the student representatives, the university representatives and the federal representatives. But what does this election mean for you and your studies?

We can look back on many years of experience at the various levels of student representation and in the different committees and therefore know what we can achieve for you where and where we want to be active for you in the future.

  What will be elected?

Federal Representation, University Representation (List Election)
In the election for the federal representation and for the university representation, you can vote for one of the competing lists. The number of seats each list receives will be determined by the percentage of votes they receive.

Student representatives (personal election):
For student representation, there is a personal election. Depending on the number of students in your degree program, you can choose between three and five candidates.

Where do students have a say?

Through your election, you have the power to choose your student
representatives. These representatives will speak on your behalf in central committees
and have a say in decisions that impact your studies and the environment in which you
study, at the department, faculty, and university level. Your vote in the election is crucial
in determining who will represent you in these important areas.

As LUKS, we have a proven track record of actively representing students in various
committees and commissions for years. We pride ourselves on being an independent
and critical voice for the student body in university representation.

 Your voice matters!

Your vote is crucial. Voter turnout is not only important feedback for representation work, but also strengthens the position of student representatives in every negotiation. Voter turnouts of barely 25% are disappointing.

To ensure your representation, we need your support.

If you want active, strong representation in your studies, you have to vote.

We LUKS are not hobby politicians who see the ÖH as a stepping stone into federal politics, make big speeches and then have to bow to the federal party line. We work for the students in Salzburg and only measure ourselves by what we can achieve for you.

Impartial, critical and experienced.

You and your studies are at the forefront of every decision we make.

The only thing that counts for us is what we can achieve for you at our university.
